나무 NAMU means “tree” or “wood”
We hold deep connections to New England and Korea and strive to highlight the natural beauty of each region in every bottle.
Separated by thousands of miles, yet extremely similar in terms of climate and natural geography. The Korean peninsula and our home in New England are both mountainous, forested, and oceanic regions, marked by snowy winters and humid summers.
Food and cuisine are key pillars of each region’s culture, and for good reason. Everyone knows that New England produces the best blueberries, cranberries, and lobster; Kimchi (김치) is so critical to Korean life that UNESCO designated the process of making kimchi as Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Our gin really celebrates this diverse splendor with botanicals that range from the required juniper berries which are endemic to New England to succulent jujube (aka daechu, 대추) which is a staple in Korean kitchens. We are committed to using natural ingredients to their fullest extent, including growing our own botanicals right at the distillery. (Come on a tour to learn more about them!)
We’re lucky at NAMU to showcase a part of Korea’s and New England’s natural bounty and culinary heritage every day, and we can’t wait to share with you!
