Josh and Will fell in love in Boston while studying chemistry and engineering in grad school. Inspired by Will’s Korean heritage and our shared passion for premium craft spirits, we are proud to present Namu soju and gin. We possess a truly unique blend of science, engineering, and artisanal skills to make Namu the most innovative distillery in Greater Boston.

     Namu (나무) means “tree” or “wood” in Korean which represents the connection we have to the botanicals and terroir of both New England and South Korea. The similarities between two regions almost 7,000 miles apart might be surprising, but they connect to the heart of each place’s culture — a love of apples, pine forests, rich seafaring traditions, and sharing drinks with loved ones.

Blending rich tradition with the precision of science, we craft spirits that don’t just fill a glass—they fill the room with the kind of energy that comes from being with the people who get you. Our gin and soju are distilled to perfection with the belief that real moments aren’t mass-produced — they’re experienced.

Beyond a simple gesture, pouring soju for another person is a deeply personal expression of friendship and respect that brings people together.
