Lead Bartender
You’re an experienced bartender who knows more than just how to craft a delicious drink. You also have prior work managing logistics including inventory and scheduling. You strive to make sure everything is running smoothly, and when you notice problems or areas for improvement, you take initiative and focus on creating actionable solutions. Importantly, you can train other bartenders to follow the same systems and uphold beverage standards for our guests.
Job Details:
Base pay of $20-$25/hr plus tips
Expected 20-30 hrs/week on site
Work schedule varies and may include working different shifts and holidays
Night and weekend work is a must
Critical Responsibilities:
Leadership:
Set the tone for the bar team in terms of quality control, professionalism, and cleanliness
Constructively critique bar staff to promote professional growth and a positive work environment
Collaborate with ownership on staffing schedules, hiring decisions (as asked), and menu development
Logistics:
Manage inventory for cocktail ingredients, food ingredients, and spirits including stock control and cost management
Set up POS systems for ease of use and efficiency
Develop SOPs for opening and closing shifts to maximize efficiency and cleanliness
Training:
Lead hands-on training to new bartenders to ensure standards are maintained across all bar staff
Provide semi-regular staff-wide trainings to discuss new techniques and service standards
Identify common areas where bartenders and other staff could improve and develop training plans accordingly
Guest Experience:
Ensure all guests feel welcome and taken care of by bar staff
Gently manage intoxicated guests, including identifying when to stop serving a guest
Collect and compile guest feedback and relay to ownership
Bartending:
Work multiple shifts per week alongside bar staff
Prep garnishes, cocktail ingredients, etc. as needed
Adhere to all local, state, and federal liquor laws
Qualifications (required):
Previous management experience in a bar and/or restaurant setting
Substantial previous experience as a bartender with a focus on cocktails
Extensive classic and contemporary cocktail knowledge
TIPS certified or equivalent
Must be able to work standing for multiple hours in a row
Must be able to lift 50lbs
Beneficial Skills and Experience (not required):
Knowledge of Korean food and beverages, especially soju
You have created multiple original cocktails and are not afraid to experiment
Food manager certification
Multilingual
